WebCT
WebCT, a course management software program, is used for all of my classes..
In order to use WebCT, you must have a UH E-mail address and password. If you
do not have a UH e-mail account, please see your instructor.
Expectations of Students*
- Demonstrate prompt and consistent attendance. Showing up on
time is valued by employers. You are expected to attend classes regularly
and on time. In the event of an absence, please notify your teacher
through voice-mail or WebCT e-mail. Attendance will affect your grade.
- Demonstrate professional behavior. You are expected to dress
appropriately for class. This means no caps, dark glasses, or bare feet.
Caps and dark glasses should be removed upon arrival in class. Phones
and pagers should be turned off before entering the classroom.
Children and pets do not belong in a college classroom, nor should they be
left unattended outside the classroom.
- Use appropriate language in the classroom. (Using foul language
is not acceptable behavior.)
- Use time management skills. You are expected to complete a
large portion of your assignments outside of class time. This may mean
scheduling 2 - 6 additional hours per week to work in the Computer Lab or
in the Library.
- Take responsibility for your learning by bringing your textbook(s),
workbook(s), supplies, paper, and pen with you. You are responsible
for purchasing all of the required textbooks. Take the initiative to see your
teacher if you have questions or concerns about your progress.
- Use resources wisely. When using the Internet, remember that
the computer is used to enhance learning. You are expected to be a responsible,
ethical, and efficient user.
- Check your UH e-mail account regular to get updates. For example,
you can learn if a class was canceled.
*These expectations incorporate ideas found in a similar
document developed by the Business Division at Kauai Community College.
